The Confucius Institute in Sofia Held the First Examination Session of the Chinese Proficiency Examination for 2026

On March 28, the Confucius Institute in Sofia held the first Chinese Proficiency Examination Session for 2026. The session covered the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK), the Chinese Proficiency Speaking Test (HSKK), as well as the Youth Chinese Test (YCT). A total of 11 test levels were organized, with nearly 390 test sittings in total. Participants included students and Chinese language learners from Sofia and surrounding areas, as well as members of the local community.

Prior to the exam, the Confucius Institute in Sofia organized a supervisor training session, during which relevant supervision regulations were studied. On the day of the exam, the Bulgarian Director, Aksiniya Koleva, and the Chinese Director, Chen Ying, were responsible for the overall organization and supervision of the examination. Teachers from the Institute, local teachers, and administrative staff conscientiously fulfilled their respective duties.

Supervisors strictly followed the examination procedures, ensuring that the exam was conducted in a safe, fair, and orderly manner. Candidates answered the questions calmly and demonstrated a good level of Chinese language proficiency.

The Confucius Institute in Sofia will continue to uphold the principle of “promoting learning through testing and promoting teaching through testing,” maintain a high standard of examination organization and services, and continue to provide local Chinese language learners with a high-quality platform for learning and assessment.
