On March 20, the Confucius Institute in Sofia held the first Chinese Proficiency Test organization training session for 2026. Nearly 20 people attended in the meeting online and offline, including Aksiniya Koleva, Bulgarian director of the Institute; Chen Ying, Chinese director; international Chinese language teachers; local teachers; and administrative staff responsible for exam administration.
During the meeting, Chinese director Chen Ying coordinated and planned the exam administration work, strictly clarified the roles and responsibilities of the chief examiners and exam supervisors, and put forward comprehensive requirements regarding standardized exam venue arrangements, standard examination procedures, exam ethics and discipline, and supervision. Confucius Institute teacher Zhang Kaiyue provided a detailed explanation of the exam administration process, including pre-exam preparations, important considerations during the exam, and the handling of exceptional situations. Confucius Institute teacher Zhang Qing presented the supervision arrangements for the exam team and clarified the responsibilities of each supervisor.
The Confucius Institute in Sofia will hold its first Chinese Proficiency Test of the year on March 28, including HSK, HSKK, and YCT exams. Candidates from Sofia and surrounding areas have enthusiastically registered, with a total of approximately 400 registrations.
