The Evlogy And Hristo Georgievy Private School in Sofia - an Educational Institution Under the Confucius Institute In Sofia, Have Conducted Their 10th Anniversary Concert

On 11th December 2024, the Evlogy And Hristo Georgievy Private School in Sofia - an educational institution under the Confucius Institute in Sofia, have conducted a concert commemorating 10 years of their establishment. Among the names of the guests of honour who have been invited to the event, the following names have stood out: Mr Tsoncho Ganev - a deputy Speaker of the Bulgarian National Assembly, Mr Angel Yanchev - member of the Parliament, Mr Angel Apostolov – a Senior Expert on the international cooperation at the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science, Mrs Gergana Ivanova – an expert on the content of teaching materials at the Department For Pre-school And Primary And Secondary Education, Mr Guan Xin – the Cultural Counsellor at the Chinese Embassy in Sofia, Mr Yang Tian - Head of the educational department at the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria, Mrs Gichka Kamenova - Rector of the Bulgarian University of Architecture, Civil Engineering and Geodesy, Mr Marin Kirov – the Mayor of Tsarevo, Mr Lin Hao - Chief correspondent of the Xinhua News Agency in Bulgaria, Mr Hong Hai -director of the Chinese Cultural Centre in Sofia, Mr Wang Pujian - the President of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce in China, Mrs Iskra Mandova - the Bulgarian director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Veliko Ternovo, Prof. Chen Ying – the Chinese director of the Confucius Institute in Sofia, Mr Dong Yuanxing - the Chinese director of the Confucius Institute in Veliko Tarnovo. The event has been attended by the school students together with their parents, many teachers from the school and local people. The audience has amounted up to 500 people.
Mrs Olga Yalamova - the Principal of the Evlogy And Hristo Georgievy Private School in Sofia has emphasized in her speech that the concert has consisted predominantly of Chinese songs, adding a touch of Chinese style to the school's 10th anniversary celebrations. Moreover, the event has not only been a musical celebration, but also a concentrated demonstration of the results of the school's Chinese language education over the years, which has highlighted their important achievements in the field of Chinese language teaching.
Pre-school and first grade students have sung the Chinese children song ‘Hello’, third grade students, sixth and seventh grade students have performed the Chinese songs ‘Little Frog's Journey’, ‘China In the Lights’ and ‘The Same Song’, and all the teachers and students have sung the chorus of ‘Me and You’, expressing their good wishes for the friendship between China and Bulgaria.
The concert has also been a partner to a local foundation to raise money to help more families in need.
The Evlogy And Hristo Georgievy Private School has been an educational institution under the Confucius Institute in Sofia since 2015. Over the past ten years, the two parties have supported each other and have worked hand in hand to help an ever-growing number of Bulgarian young people to learn Chinese and to understand China, as well as to assist the friendship between China and Bulgaria.
