The Directors Of the Confucius Institute In Sofia Have Visited the Akademik Ivan Gyuzelev Secondary School Of Natural Sciences And Mathematics in Gabrovo

On 31st January 2025, Mrs Aksiniya Koleva - the Bulgarian director of the Confucius Institute in Sofia and Prof. Chen Ying – the Chinese director of the Confucius Institute in Sofia, have visited the Akademik Ivan Gyuzelev Secondary School Of Natural Sciences And Mathematics in Gabrovo, and have had a meeting with the headmistress of the school Mrs Tsvetana Kyumyurdzieva. Both CIS directors together with Mrs Tsvetana Kyumyurdzhieva - the school's headmistress have visited the classroom to observe the process of Chinese teaching.
Mrs Tsvetana Kyumyurdzieva has introduced the current situation of the Chinese language teaching at the Akademik Ivan Gyuzelev Secondary School Of Natural Sciences And Mathematics in Gabrovo, and the recent Chinese New Year celebrations which have been organised by the school. Both CIS directors - of the Chinese and of the Bulgarian sides, have thanked the school for their strong support for the Chinese language teaching and have introduced the CIS’s own brand-name cultural activities organised by the Confucius Institute in Sofia in the recent years, encouraging the students to actively participate in them. Afterwards, both CIS directors together with the headmistress of the school have observed a Chinese New Year-themed cultural lesson by the volunteer teacher.
On the occasion of the Chinese New Year of the Snake, the school students from grade 6 to grade 11, have also demonstrated the achievements of Chinese language teaching in the school in the form of several cultural performances, including singing, poetry recitations and fairy tale performances etc., so as to express their good wishes for the Chinese New Year.
