The Confucius Institute In Sofia Have Conducted Their Academic Affairs Meeting For the Autumn Term Of the 2024/2025 Academic Year

On 17th September 2024, the Confucius Institute in Sofia have held an online academic affairs meeting for the autumn term of the academic year 2024/2025. More than 20 people have attended, including Prof. Chen Ying - the Chinese director of the Confucius Institute in Sofia, all the Chinese teachers and volunteers, and the administrative staff of the CIS.
At the meeting, the Chinese director of CIS Prof. Chen Ying has welcomed the newly appointed Chinese teachers and volunteers. She has introduced the basic situation at the Confucius Institute and the rules and regulations. Moreover, she has focussed on the relevant provisions concerning the workload of the teachers and their annual assessment. In addition, she has expressed her hope that all the Chinese teachers will start to integrate teaching with scientific research along with their main job at CIS. Prof. Chen Ying has also said that the Confucius Institute will provide the necessary conditions and due support to the teachers’ scientific research work and to promote the professional development of the teaching team. At the same time, she has mentioned that CIS would carry out research on the target country's language and cultural knowledge which would add innovations to the Chinese language education and the organisation of the cultural activities.
In the autumn term of the academic year 2024/2025, the Confucius Institute in Sofia will add 5 new Chinese teachers and 4 new Chinese volunteers, bringing the total number of Chinese teachers to 20.
