The Confucius Institute In Sofia Have Co-organised the Inauguration Ceremony Of the Peony Garden In Commemoration Of the 75th Anniversary Of the Establishment Of Diplomatic Relations Between China And Bulgaria

On 31st October 2024, the inauguration ceremony of the Sharing the Beauty peony garden has been held in the South Park in Sofia to commemorate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bulgaria. The event has been attended by Mrs Wang Min - counsellor at the Embassy of China in Bulgaria, Mr Tsoncho Ganev - deputy spokesperson of the Bulgarian National Assembly, Mrs Nadezhda Bobcheva - deputy mayor of Sofia, representatives of the Institute of Decorative and Medicinal Plants, and members of the delegation from the city of Heze in Shandong Province, together with friends from all walks of life, have attended the opening ceremony. The Confucius Institute in Sofia have been invited to participate in the event.
In cooperation with the Mudan and the Dingtao districts of the city of Heze, the Confucius Institute in Sofia have participated in the Chinese cultural demonstrations which have been part of the inauguration ceremony of the peony garden. They have carefully exhibited calligraphy works themed on peonies, handwoven textiles, foldable and round fans, bookmarks and other cultural items. A lovely degustation of peony flower cakes and interactive activities such as calligraphy, paper-cutting, learning Chinese and teaching visitors simple greetings by using the “speaking” Chinese teaching materials have also been part of the event. The display booth has attracted bypassers in the park to join and experience the cultural activities.
The Confucius Institute in Sofia and the city of Heze have established a good cooperation routine. Both parties have displayed the best of their assets to jointly help the people of China and the people of Bulgaria to communicate with each other better.
