The Confucius Institute In Sofia Has Hosted A Specialised Training Session On News Writing

On 4th October 2025, the Confucius Institute in Sofia has hosted an online training session on news writing. The training has been attended by over 20 participants, amongst which Prof. Chen Ying - the Chinese director of the CIS, alongside international Chinese language teachers and volunteers.
During the training session, Prof. Chen Ying has first outlined the overall arrangements for the semester's news publications work. She has set forth clear requirements for the events planning and for the organisation as well as for the blueprints of the press releases. Teachers who have been responsible for the news publications at the Confucius Institute in Sofia have delivered a specialised training session covering multiple aspects including the structural layout and the composition of the press releases, the polishing and the refinement of the linguistic content, the standards for formatting, and the photography techniques when photo shooting at the event venues etc. The session has further covered the common real-life errors and the shortcomings via specific case studies from past publications, thus making the explanations more targeted and more instructive.
The Confucius Institute in Sofia organises a broad and diverse array of Chinese language and cultural activities, placing significant emphasis on the promotion and the reporting of these events. For two consecutive years, the Institute has been honoured with a reward for an ‘A Confucius Institute With An Outstanding Excellence In Correspondence’ by the Chinese International Education Foundation.
