A Delegation From the Educational Technologies And Resource Development Center (ETRC) of the Ministry of Education Have Visited the Confucius Institute in Sofia

On 23rd September, 2025, Mr Xiao Hang - the deputy Director of the Educational Technologies and Resource Development Center of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic Of China, has led a delegation to visit the Confucius Institute in Sofia. Mr Yang Tian - the Head of the Education Department at the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria, Prof. Dong Yuanxing - the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute at the University of Veliko Tarnovo, Mrs Aksiniya Koleva - the Bulgarian director of the Confucius Institute in Sofia, and Prof. Chen Ying - the Chinese director of the Confucius Institute in Sofia, have jointly attended the meeting.
During the meeting, both parties have engaged in in-depth discussions on the development and the application of digital teaching resources, while exploring future avenues for collaboration. Firstly, Mr Xiao Hang – the Deputy Director of ETRC, has started by outlining the Centre's developmental trajectory, its core functions, and the construction and the utilisation of its digital resource platform. Mrs Aksinya Koleva – the Bulgarian director of CIS, and Prof.Chen Ying - the Chinese director of CIS have reviewed the nearly twenty-year journey of the the Confucius Institute in Sofia, explaining in details the implementation of the Chinese language teaching. They have also explained the current state of CIS and their future plans for digital teaching. Teachers from the Confucius Institute demonstrated the outcomes of their independently developed Chinese micro-lesson project.
After the meeting, Mr Xiao Hang has presented a book to the Sofia Confucius Institute on behalf of ETRC. The delegation have also visited the CIS's teaching and cultural facilities, including its multifunctional hall, its exhibition space and the library.
The Educational Technologies and Resource Development Center of the Ministry of Education of the PRC has been established in 2021 through the integration of the Central Educational Television And Audio-Visual Education Centre and the Ministry of Education's Centre for Educational Equipment Research and Development, in accordance with the requirements of the public institutions reform. ETRC is dedicated to establishing a unified national platform for educational technologies and resource development, and to the promotion of the deep integration of the educational technologies advancements with the construction of teaching and learning resources.
