The Confucius Classroom Of the 101st Secondary School Under the Confucius Institute In Sofia Have Held Their China In My Eyes Drawing Competition Award Ceremony
On 20th December 2024, the Confucius Classroom at the 101st Secondary School under the Confucius Institute in Sofia, have held an award-giving ceremony for their drawing competition named China In My Eyes in the school's gymnasium. The award ceremony has been attended by Mrs Kristina Popova and Mrs Ivelina Raikova - both of which experts at the Department Of Education And Culture at the Nadezhda district municipality in Sofia; Mrs Vessela Ivanova - the Principal of the 101st Secondary School in Sofia, Mr Wang Pujian - the President of the Bulgarian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Mrs Aksiniya Koleva – the Bulgarian director of the Confucius Institute in Sofia, and Prof. Chen Ying - the Chinese director of the CIS, representatives of Chinese organisations, representatives of parents of the Chinese students at the 101st Secondary School, and more than a hundred teachers and students from the school have attended the event.
Before the award ceremony, Mrs Vessela Ivanova - the school Principal, has conducted a meeting with the Chinese and the Bulgarian directors of the Confucius Institute in Sofia. She has thanked the Confucius Institute for their strong support for the Chinese language teaching in the school. Moreover, she has expressed her hopes for successful common future of both parties and has emphasized on her hope that both parties would work hand in hand to strengthen their co-operation related to their common development in Chinese language teaching and additional cultural activities.
Mrs Aksiniya Koleva - the Bulgarian Director of the Confucius Institute in Sofia, Prof. Chen Ying - the Chinese Director of CIS, and experts from the Department For Education And Culture at the local municipal administration, as well as the president of the Chamber Of Commerce and representatives of the students' parents, have all presented awards to the 30 award-winning students. Some of the award-winning students have made speeches and have shared their experiences of Chinese language learning. These outstanding works have been displayed in the school.
The competition has received nearly 100 drawings, which depict China as seen through the eyes of the Bulgarian children from numerous perspectives such as places of interest, traditional culture, social customs, etc. The contest drawings ooze children's curiosity and imagination. The event was been generously supported by the Bulgarian-Chinese Chamber of Commerce.
