Confucius Institute in Sofia Held HSK Examinations

On December 7, the Confucius Institute in Sofia held the second Chinese Proficiency Test HSK of 2025. This round of testing covered HSK Levels 1–6 and HSKK (Chinese Proficiency Spoken Test) for beginner, intermediate, and advanced levels. Nearly 300 candidates registered for this session, including primary and secondary school students, university students, and Chinese learners from various walks of life in Sofia and the surrounding areas.

Prior to the exam, the Confucius Institute organized a training session for the exam staff to study the relevant administrative regulations. On the day of the exam, Bulgarian Director Aksiniya Koleva and Chinese Director Chen Ying oversaw the overall organization and supervision of the examination, while the Institute’s Chinese teachers, local teachers, administrative secretaries, and technical personnel conscientiously fulfilled their respective duties.

This examination marked the first implementation of the combined HSK and HSKK format at this test center. Facing the substantial increase in the scale of the spoken test, the Institute made full use of the existing audio room, while also equipping the necessary speaking-exam devices in accordance with regulations and training exam staff in operating the equipment to ensure the smooth conduct of the test.

The Confucius Institute in Sofia has long provided high-quality Chinese language and culture courses as well as Chinese proficiency testing services for learners in Bulgaria, earning recognition from local students and parents.
