Beijing Foreign Studies University Delegation Have Paid a Visit To the Confucius Institute In Sofia

On July 4th 2024, Mr Wang Dinghua - Chairman of the University Council at the Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), has led a delegation to visit the Confucius Institute in Sofia (CIS), aiming to conduct a meet-and-greet discussion with both sides of the CIS staff - the Chinese teachers and the Bulgarian administrators working at the Confucius Institute in Sofia (CIS). Additionally, the delegation have met with several Chinese exchange students studying in Bulgaria, and have conducted a meet-and-greet discussion between all participants. The delegation have been received by Mrs Aksiniya Koleva - the Bulgarian director of the Confucius Institute in Sofia, and by Prof. Chen Ying – the Chinese director of the Confucius Institute in Sofia.
Accompanied by the Chinese and the Bulgarian directors, the delegation visited the multi-functional hall, the activity hall and library of the Confucius Institute in Sofia. During the discussion, Mrs Aksiniya Koleva - the CIS director from the Bulgarian side, has delivered her welcome speech. Prof. Chen Ying – the CIS director of the Chinese side, has introduced the historical development of the Confucius Institute in Sofia and the focus of its present work. The CIS staff members and the Chinese exchange students who have been participating in the discussion, have shared their impressions from their work and life in Bulgaria. Mr Wang Dinghua has affirmed the achievements of the Confucius Institute in Sofia. He has expressed his gratitute to the teachers for their hard work, and has promised that the BFSU will continue to support the cause of the Chinese language education in Bulgaria. Moreover, he has expressed his hope that the CIS teachers and administrators will be able to integrate the international Chinese language education and the spreading of the Chinese culture into the development for a shared future of the mankind.
The delegation have also visited the Sofia University and the University of Plovdiv - both partner universities of the Confucius Institute in Sofia, to discuss the cooperation between these universities. Mr Zheng Dapeng - director of the office of the Rector of the Beijing Foreign Studies University, Mrs He Jing - Director of the Department For International Exchange And Cooperation, Mrs Ke Jing - Dean of the European Languages and Cultures Department, and Mr Qin Huimin - Dean of the International Education Department, have accompanied the delegation.
