A Delegation From the China Renmin University Press On a Visit To the Confucius Institute in Sofia
On 7th December 2024, Mr Li Kailong - general manager of the China Renmin University Press, has led a delegation to visit the Confucius Institute in Sofia. Mrs Wang Zewu - product manager of the Sales Department of China Renmin University Press, Mrs Zhai Jianghong - chief editor of the Humanities Publishing Branch, Mr Li Lihong - editor of the Vocational Education Publishing Branch, Mrs Liu Guangyu - director of the International Cooperation Office, and Mrs Zhang Qin - copyright manager of the International Publishing Centre, have comprised the delegation. The delegation has been received by Prof. Chen Ying - the Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute in Sofia.
On behalf of the Confucius Institute in Sofia, Prof. Chen Ying has welcomed the delegation. She has introduced the history of the development of CIS and the book collections of the Confucius Institute in Sofia, and has put forward the idea of possible co-operation between the two parties in spheres such as translation, book publishing and organisation of lectures.
Mr Li Kailong has introduced the current major publishing projects, and has said that China Renmin University Press focuses on book translations and publishing cooperations with countries from the Belt and Road Initiative. He has expressed his hope for exchanges with the Confucius Institute in Sofia so that even more outstanding research results could be introduced to the Bulgarian readers, and the humanistic exchanges between China and Bulgaria could be facilitated.
After the meeting, the delegation have visited the multifunctional hall and the library of the CIS. They have presented to CIS their most recently published cultural series of books to the Confucius Institute in Sofia.
