The Confucius Institute in Sofia Co-organized and Participated in the 'Magical Mid-Autumn Night' Event
On October 11, the "Mid-Autumn Magical Night" event was held at the Toplocentrala Centre for Contemporary Arts. The event was hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria and co-organized by the China Cultural Center in Sofia, the Confucius Institute in Sofia, and the Association of Chinese Students and Scholars in Bulgaria. More than 200 people attended, including Tsoncho Ganev, Deputy Speaker of the Bulgarian National Assembly; Andrey Chorbanov, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Education and Science; Dai Qingli, Chinese Ambassador to Bulgaria; as well as representatives from various sectors.
The event featured a variety of activities, including a traditional culture exhibition titled "Together at This Moment Despite Being Far Apart," a cocktail reception, and a classical poetry singing competition. The Confucius Institute in Sofia participated in the traditional culture exhibition by carefully designing an interactive game called "Clever Pouch Challenge." Participants randomly selected pouches containing classical Chinese poems and were invited to respond with the next line in Chinese, Bulgarian, or English. Those who answered correctly earned a chance to enter a prize draw to win exquisite Chinese handicrafts. This design combined classical poetry with engaging interaction, attracting many attendees to participate and creating a lively atmosphere at the venue.
The "Mid-Autumn Magical Night" event in Bulgaria has been held since 2024, allowing audiences to experience the unique charm of classical Chinese poetry in a relaxed and joyful atmosphere as well as the cultural essence of reunion and harmony associated with the Mid-Autumn Festival and has been well received by the local public.
