The Chinese and Bulgarian Directors of the Confucius Institute in Sofia Visited the Affiliated Teaching Site — Peter Bogdan Foreign Language High School

On October 28, Aksinia Koleva, the Bulgarian Director of the Confucius Institute in Sofia, and Chen Ying, the Chinese Director, visited the Institute’s affiliated teaching site — the Foreign Language High School “Petar Bogdan” in Montana. The Directors had a working meeting with the school’s principal, Bilyana Derlipanska, and vice-principal, Larisa Lazarova, to exchange views on deepening Chinese language education and expanding cultural activities.

During the meeting, the principal and vice-principal gave a detailed introduction of Chinese language teaching, learning results, participation in the Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK), and the results of organizing and participating in activities such as the “Chinese Bridge” Summer Camp. The Chinese and Bulgarian Directors of the Confucius Institute highly praised the remarkable achievements of the teaching site and offered suggestions on expanding the scope of teaching and cultural activities in the future, as well as strengthening exchanges between Chinese and Bulgarian students.

On the same day, the Chinese and Bulgarian directors of the Confucius Institute were invited to attend the 55th anniversary celebration of the founding of Peter Bogdan Foreign Language High School, joining the teachers and students in sharing this important moment.

Currently, Peter Bogdan Foreign Language High School offers seven Chinese language classes, covering both middle and high school levels. This year, the school has also launched its first Chinese class open for elementary school students from the city. In the future, it plans to offer adult Chinese courses for residents of Montana, aiming to provide more local people with a platform to learn Chinese and understand Chinese culture.
