Confucius Classroom at Burgas English Language School Affiliated with Confucius Institute in Sofia Participated in Erasmus Project Results Presentation Event in Burgas

On February 9, 2026, the Confucius Classroom at Burgas English School, under the Confucius Institute in Sofia, participated in a report event for the Erasmus+ Active Learning Lab project, hosted by the school. The event showcased collaborative outcomes from Bulgaria, Germany, Finland, and Spain. Representatives from the Burgas Regional Directorate of Education, relevant institutions and universities in Burgas, as well as members of visiting delegations from Germany, Finland, and Spain, attended. About 80 teachers and students of Burgas English School also participated, including Principal Zhaklin Neycheva and Vice Principal Bozhidar Goranov.

During the event, local teachers from the Confucius Classroom organized students to present performances such as Chinese poetry recitation and fan dances. The Chinese teacher explained the historical origins of calligraphy, the evolution of script styles, and its cultural significance. In the calligraphy workshop, the teacher wrote Chinese transliterated names for visiting guests and presented them with the character “Fu” (lit. “good fortune”). The interactive workshop session attracted enthusiastic participation from guests and the school’s teachers and students, becoming one of the highlights of this international educational exchange activity.

The Confucius Classroom’s participation in this international exchange activity received high praise from the visiting delegations from the three countries. While conveying Chinese New Year greetings for the Year of the Horse, the event further enhanced cultural understanding and emotional resonance between Chinese and foreign teachers and students, injecting new vitality into the city’s international educational cooperation and cultural exchange activities.
