“Petar Bogdan” Foreign Language High School in Montana under the Confucius Institute in Sofia Held the Second Chinese Painting Experience Activity

On January 7, the primary-level Chinese language learning group at ”Petar Bogdan” Foreign Language High School in the city of Montana, a teaching site of the Confucius Institute in Sofia, held its second Chinese painting experience activity. A CIS Chinese language teacher from the school and 15 primary school students took part in the event.

The Chinese teacher first introduced the basic steps of Chinese painting and the commonly used tools. Under the teacher’s guidance, the students learned how to outline shapes, fill in with ink, and try to capture the distinctive features of pandas. On this basis, the teacher and students jointly completed a painting practice themed “Panda.” During the activity, the teacher integrated language learning with painting practice, guiding students to learn basic vocabulary related to the theme.

The atmosphere at the event was lively, and the students remained focused. While completing the painting tasks in an orderly manner, they also gained a deeper understanding of the creative process of Chinese painting.

This activity was an important part of the Chinese teaching activities of the “Chinese Culture Corner” at “Petar Bogdan” Foreign Language High School. By combining language and culture, it provides students with a diverse learning experience.
