А Warm Reception By the Chinese And the Bulgarian Directors Of the Confucius Institute In Sofia The Vice-Rector Of the Neofit Rilski Southwest University And Her Delegation Have Paid a Visit To the Confucius Institute in Sofia

On the 31st of January, 2024 at 12 PM local time, Mrs Petrana Stoykova – the vice Rector of the Neofit Rilski Southwest University, and Mr Tsonev – the Dean of the Department of Linguistics, visited the Confucius Institute in Sofia. Mrs Aksiniya Koleva – the Bulgarian director of the Confucius Institute in Sofia, and Prof. Liu Xiuming – the Chinese director of the Confucius Institute in Sofia, have warmly received the guests and have exchanged gifts with them.

Mrs Petrana Stoykova has revealed the purpose of the visit. She has outlined the achievements of the cooperation between the Southwest University and the Confucius Institute in Sofia over the years, and has expressed her gratitude to the Confucius Institute in Sofia. She has voiced her hope that through the exchange and the co-operation with the Confucius Institute in Sofia, the mutual understanding would be further enhanced, thus strengthening the long-term friendly co-operation between the Southwest University and the Confucius Institute in Sofia. She has also expressed her hope that the Confucius Institute shall help the Southwest University to promote and to enhance the Chinese language teaching as well as to strengthen the students exchange programme with Chinese universities.

The Chinese and the Bulgarian directors of the Confucius Institute have warmly welcomed the leaders of the Southwest University and have expressed their gratitude to the university leaders for their concern and for their continuous support for the development of the Confucius Classroom at the Southwest University. Both directors have introduced the guests to the history, the development and the achievements of the Confucius Institute in Sofia, and have expressed their willingness to actively promote the friendly cooperation with the Southwest University in the spheres of education, culture and scientific research. The two parties have also discussed the programme of the forthcoming visit to China of a delegation of directors of Bulgarian educational institutions associated to the Confucius Institute in Sofia which visit has been scheduled for early April 2024.
