The Visit of Bulgarian Education Professionals to China Came to Successful Close

On April 24, the visit of Bulgarian education professionals to China came to a successful close. The visit was jointly organized by Beijing Foreign Studies University and the Confucius Institute in Sofia and the delegation consisted of seven members, including Daniel Bratanov, Vice-Rector of Ruse University; faculty and department leaders from Sofia University and Trakia University; the principal of No.138 Secondary School in Sofia; the principal of High School of Informatics “Acad. Blagovest Sendov” in Plovdiv; and the principal of Foreign Language High School “Petar Bogdan” in Montana.

The delegation successively visited Chaoyang Future School, a high school affiliated with Peking University; the Center for Language Education and Cooperation (CLEC); Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU); and Xi’an Polytechnic University. They held discussions on primary and secondary education; training of local Chinese teachers in Bulgaria; AI empowerment of education; and other topics. In the future, each party will continue to stimulate Sino-Bulgarian cultural and people-to-people exchanges, and engage in innovative cooperation in development of academic disciplines and scientific exchanges.

During their visit to China, the delegation participated in cultural experience activities and visited many places of interest, including the Forbidden City, the Great Wall of China, the Terracotta Army of Emperor Qin Shi Huang in Xi’an, and the Great Temple of Compassion and Grace (Great Wild Goose Pagoda). They gained first-hand experience of the profound historical and cultural heritage of China.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Confucius Institute in Sofia. The successful completion of the delegation’s planned work during its visit to China, had important significance for promoting the development of the Confucius Institute in Sofia and deepening Sino-Bulgarian educational exchanges.
