The Confucius Institute in Sofia participated in the coordination meeting for a cultural event organized by the Slatina District Municipality of Sofia

From May 5, the Confucius Institute in Sofia participated in a coordination meeting on cultural event organization held by the Slatina District Municipality of Sofia. Mariyana Ivanova, Deputy District Mayor of Slatina, responsible for education, culture, e-governance, and sports, and other relevant officials took part in the meeting, along with Gergin Angelov, Chairman of the “Racket Speed” Badminton Club, Chen Ying, Chinese Director of the Confucius Institute in Sofia, and Magdalina Kyoseva, Chinese language teacher at No. 138 Secondary School in Sofia. The participants discussed the joint organization of a large-scale outdoor sports and cultural event involving multiple partners.

The Slatina District Municipality of Sofia welcomed the delegation from the Confucius Institute in Sofia. During the coordination meeting, the forms of participation, content, and division of responsibilities for all parties were clearly defined. The timing of the event, venue selection, and on-site arrangements were also discussed in detail. The Slatina District Municipality will provide full support in terms of venue provision, event promotion, and organizational coordination, while the Confucius Institute in Sofia will be responsible for the Chinese language and culture experience workshop.

After the meeting, Director Chen Ying presented Deputy District Mayor Mariyana Ivanova with Confucius Institute’s latest publication.

At the meeting, the Confucius Institute in Sofia and the Slatina District Municipality of Sofia reached an agreement to establish cooperative relations. Both sides expressed their willingness to strengthen cooperation in the future and jointly promote Chinese language education in the district, contributing to Sino-Bulgarian cultural exchange.
