“Geo Milev” English Language School Confucius Classroom in Burgas, Affiliated with the Confucius Institute in Sofia, Celebrated the Double Ninth Festival

On November 5, the Confucius Classroom at “Geo Milev” English Language School in Burgas, affiliated with the Confucius Institute in Sofia, held a cultural event to celebrate the Double Ninth Festival. More than 40 teachers and students gathered to experience the unique charm of this traditional Chinese festival.


During the event, teachers introduced the history and traditions of the Double Ninth Festival and organized a themed quiz, where students who answered correctly received Chinese-style handicrafts as prizes. Five eleventh-grade students recited the Tang dynasty poet Wang Wei’s poem “Thinking of My Brothers in Shandong on the Ninth Day of the Ninth Month”. Teachers also set up a workshop to guide students in making paper chrysanthemums and cornelian cherries. Everyone participated enthusiastically, immersing themselves in the cultural meaning of the Double Ninth Festival.


Since its establishment, the Confucius Classroom at “Geo Milev” English Language School in Burgas has provided high-quality Chinese courses and has regularly organized a variety of cultural activities, serving as an important window for local people to learn about Chinese language and culture.
